Hey, need some help please.
someone told me once, when sweeping ALWAYS move the pick directly on to
each new string. does this mean that in a 3 note per string scale pattern, the second note in the scale( the one thats not sweeped) should be made by moving the pick directly on the the string above it??

You dont have to hit a new string every note when sweeping. If thats what what your talking about.
By virtue of their electrical properties, tubes generate a special waveform when they're saturated, which is why tube engineering has tremendous tonal advantages over solid state or DSP solutions, particularly for crunch and lead sounds. Tubes enter the saturation zone gradually or softly, which lends tube-driven tone its trademark yet totally unique character.

I just meant as a rest stroke.
like if you were doin a 3 note per string pattern starting on the a string and im wondering, when you play the second note on that string with an upstroke do you lean against the e string above it?

When you're going up the scale in 3 notes/string pattern : D U D D U D D U D ,etc.

Going down the scale : U D U U D U U D U ,etc.

D= Downstroke
U= Upstroke
