I'm kind of new to trem locks, and im not sure if im doing it correctly. I changed out my strings last night.. and put them on like its supposed to be for a lock system, but tuning it is a problem.. the strings drop out of tune as the tension becomes tighter. so my bridge is being pulled out of my guitar, and the strings are flat.. i figured i'm supposed have it tuned at the head stock, and then lock down the nut and then fine tune it at the bridge, but i might be wrong, anyone have any answers or maybe know where i can find a good help guide online. thanks..

no you are right.

undo the locking nut, adjust all your fine tuners into the middle position and tune your E string, then your A etc. When you have tuned your top E, go back to your bottom E and start again. Each time you repeat this process their will be a less dramatic de-tune until eventually you can tune all the way up to your top e whilst leaving your bottom E in tune. Then lock down your nut and tune up using the fine tuners.

If your bridge comes too far up then add some more tension to the springs in the back cavity and retune.

I have a 7 string.. so exactly how should i tune them in order.. top two.. then bottom two.. top three.. then bottom three.. then top 4.. then bottom bottom three.. cause its still throwing them off tune.. everytime i tune another string... this is confusing for me..

I start at the bottom string and work up and repeat as many times as necessary !

You will notice that every time you repeat the tuning the string are less out of tune until eventually they all remain in tune !
