Creative Audigy recording tips??

Can anyone guide me to or simply explain the best way to get the most out of my Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 Platinum sound card?? When I plug into the card from my amp, the quality is not the same that my amp puts out, it's a lot fuzzier and not as clear. Any and all tips for recording guitar/vocals through this card is much appreciated!!

Sounds like you could be overloading the in put in the card. How do you monitor the input level ?
