Trying a 3/4 size guitar can help you and practice stretching to the frets will help too. Seagull makes them and there's the Baby Taylor which you might find in a pawn shop.

But rock Fossils, indeed...any "music fossil" has a bag of tricks you could learn. Undoubtedly, what you want to play was based on the 12 bar blues or another blues style originally.
