String change
If a tree fell in the forest......? and I have a pound of feathers and a pound of coal?...... and one duck is in front of two ducks and one duck is beside two ducks?..... and I see a rabbit with a pancake on his head?........ These Hypothetical, Metaphorical Truss Rod adjustments always confuse me........

Set the guitar in front of you with the head of the trus rod (the bit you put the Allin wrench into) facing you.
That is the reference point and from here you can see what is clockwise as the rod turns.

Ok this thread has become chuckle central!
I agree with pString about the Dan Erlwine's book -- it is a great read. With the knowledge pulled from it and some good old elbow grease, I have brought a Washburn OE30 from almost unplayable to downright groovy.
As for my strings - I prefer a heavy gauge .11 (Ernie Ball Power Slinky's) for the Washburn due to its short scale length. However for my Harmony Strat copy I like .10s (Elixir brand)
