Hey - I just wanted to run this by you guys and see if anyone else has been doing this. I'm just getting to the point with my guitar playing and music ability that I sort of understand how things work. Meaning, scales fit with building chords and basic song structure. So now with my newfound knowledge I'm finding that when I listen to songs I'm starting to pick them apart to see how they're played. I'm learning things about songs that I never really listened to before... I just think it's pretty cool.

Great example - Crazy Train... I've heard that song 1,000 times before but I was on the way home from work the other day and I listened to it. Randy Rhoades does soooo much during that song that I NEVER noticed before. Another good one is Brian Setzer. I think it was "jump jivin" or something like that but damn, he was tearin' it up.

anyone else do that?
