compression/limiter/sustainer

Hey guys i just wanted to ask your opions on what effects i should use. I play lots of jazz and i'm in jazz band at school.. i just purchased a boss cs-3 compressor/sustainer hoping that it would blend my tones and make everything silky smooth. It did somewhat but i just want something that with liven up my clean sound and give it endless amounts of fatness and depth. I play thru a 93 gibson les paul studio and a line 6 spider 212 amp.. thanks folks gimme your opinions
