Hey man! You'll learn tons from this site, not only about playing guitar, but some guys in the gear forum can help you save hundreds of dollars by way of leading you in the right choice for gear (yes LATS, that includes you...)

It's only fair to warn ya that your signature will probably get some major backlash (we only have a few punk fans here). To each his own

See ya on the boards!

:p

hello and welcome. You will learn a lot from this site if you keep looking around. Also, dont forget to use the search function on this forum because so many useful topics can be found that way :)
By virtue of their electrical properties, tubes generate a special waveform when they're saturated, which is why tube engineering has tremendous tonal advantages over solid state or DSP solutions, particularly for crunch and lead sounds. Tubes enter the saturation zone gradually or softly, which lends tube-driven tone its trademark yet totally unique character.

Yo. Don't worry about what kind of music you listen to. I mean even those who listen to the same genre in this site disagree sometimes. Just as long as you're not listing Simple Plan, GC, and All American Rejects as the best bands ever you should be fine. Good luck with joining a band.

let me rephrase...I play classical guitar...if im playin eletric its death metal stuff....there arent that many classical things here...except for azreals stuff and i dont consider shredding the A minor scale or playing an A minor arpeggio at 200 bps to be classical at all...nor do i consider much of michael angelo/yngwie malmsteen/jason beckers stuff to be classical...although they may have some classical soundin pieces its by far not the type im lookin for
if anything ive finally learned what a frickin mode was (its about time to) and how to practice...thats about all

One thing that has been pounded into my brain from being here is that you can please some people all the time, you can please all people some of the time, but you can't please all people all the time.

That and that some people are very bitter and will not let it go.
... and that's all I have to say about that.

ALL generalizations are WRONG

LOL!!!! (For those of you that don't get it, check out this thread.

I would post a lot more stuff, if I had time and dedication and I actually liked posting it, but it's too much of a hassle. I can't computer record, I have to convert my files from a hard disk recorder to the comp., then convert them to mp3's, then upload them to GT (the whole process takes 1-3 hours, even after I've recorded the files). That's why I can't do too much actual "guitar" stuff on my page. But lessons in modes and stuff aren't a problem, since I can just copy and paste all the words.

This board is like government. Don't make any waves or say anything out of the ordinary or you'll piss off somebody three-thousand-miles or more away.

Who is currently a hypocrite because my advice is out of the ordinary.

Actually, Eggman, not wearing pants was under discussion months before in THIS awesome thread: http://www.guitartricks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9835&page=1

The "pants" phenomenon, started by none other than THIS awesome fellow, has been on my mind ever since...well, maybe just when I'm alone...and bored.
