I'd go with the acoustic, mainly due to its portability and easy/quick use. It's easy to bring an acoustic to a friends, or on vacation, or just yank out of the corner and play when grandmaw stops by for a visit, but try bringing a Marshall stack with you to the beach... yeah, that's useful...
