Disagreed. While they would be good artists, they wouldn't be who they ended up as. Jimi Hendrix wailing away on the wah wouldn't have that personal pyschadelic-thing going on.

But as far as heroin or cocaine; I'm against both of those, because I've seen many of my musical icons (Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Jerry Garcia, Charlie Parker) go down the tubes from addiction to these drugs. Now, while it's true that Miles Davis did get off the coke and heroin, Charlie Parker never did, and died at 34 years of age. Jerry Garcia's musical ability diminished after years of heroin and cocaine use, and Coltrane...well I love Coltrane's music and can't really tell a difference from the drugs and Coltrane. But you know they are there.
