Satriani Whammy Bar Scream

HI Guys, Does anyone know how satriani gets that ascending screaming effect where he appears to pre-press the whammy bar down by reaching round with his fret hand and he seems to do something up at the bridge end with his right hand - any ideas ?

1. Get left hand ready and lower the whammy as low as possible.

2. Pinch the G string and.. wait.. lol, G string.. ok anyways, pinch the G string and gradually let the whammy rise with your left hand.

3. If you have bad sustain, pinch again and as soon as you pinch the second time, lower the whammy just a little bit but do it swiftly and then let it gradually rise again.

4. Try alternating the string pinching! Hope it helps and good luck!

Just pick a pinch harmonic on any open string , and fool around with the whammy with your fretting hand if you wanna do it like satriani.

Or, you can tap (or pick) a natural harmonic with your fretting hand , and play the whammy with your picking hand as everybody else do !
