looking for classic rock
Ive been recently been moving on from all of that punk/emo crap and have been getting into classic rock. I listen to one of the local classic rock stations here where I live but they dont ever say the name of who's playing or what the name of the songs are. The songs I mostly enjoy are the ones with all the crazy solos and stuff (not the ones with the keyboard, they bother me for some reason). Can somebody help me out? Recommend some albums for me?

Also of course check out Black Sabbath, Cream, maybe some Who, The Guess Who, Jethro Tull, and Rush (much emphasis on Black Sabbath, Jethro Tull, and Rush)

Jon Lord of Deep Purple did for the Hammond B3 organ, what Eddie Van Halen did for electric guitar. He took what used to be thought of as a small church organ, hooked it up to a pile of 100 Watt Marshall amps and stacks of Leslie speakers. The results were, shall we say, impressive! :D
Lord and Ritchie Blackmore pioneered a lot of stereo-effect counterpoint harmonies played live. And they were into classical music long before Malmsteen et al were even heard of!
Most people think of the albums released during their peak period (Fireball, Machine Head) but I recommend checking out early stuff like Book Of Taleisyn and Purple Passages as well. A lot of the stuff that's out now seems like a weak echo of things that happened 35 years ago.

This is some of the bands you would call classic rock, although some are more classic than others.
But you could definitely see any of these bands on an "Classic Rock Collection" or something.
Some of these bands have "the" before the name, but that should'nt matter.
Edit: I just saw you wanted outrageous solos, so I marked all of the bands
whos songs sometimes contains more or less blazing solos with a X.
