OK, so the main difference between all those different models of Les Pauls is the pickups. 57's, 490,500,498..bla bla bla. To all the Paul owners out there, what are your personal fav's and why? I'm leaning towards the Classic Les Paul ( 496 and 500 ) or Standard Premium Plus with the Burstbucker Pros.

Oh, I am talking Gibson, not Epi.

There is also a huge variation in playability, depending on taste A will feel lovely where as B will feel horrible !

Very true! I've played 2 LP's and both felt and played very different. One was a studio which was uncomfortable (huge neck with corners that felt like they bit into my hand) and my cousins older LP (I have no idea which model) standard which felt amazing (I'm trying real hard to talk her out of it since she rarely touches it).
