Think of your right hand as the way you did when you first started learning guitar.
All that time it takes to get your left had used to doing bends, pull-offs and hammer ons etc... you have to train your right hand to do the same thing.
So it's almost like starting over again.
Another thing to take seriously is the hair band/braid thing I mention in the beginning lessons. Most guys will say stupid things like "it's cheating" or whatever, but seriously, I use it all the time to mute the strings...even when you're doing leads or acoustic leads in the studio.... put the hair braid thing over the strings and you'll get a much cleaner sound. Just keep in mind that if you have to play open strings, you either have to punch in or remove it temporarily while you play the open strings, then slide it back up for the rest of either your leads or your tapping.
