If your good you will be known as its a competative activity and you can directly be judged against some one in skill and thats the only thing in question so being a better player means your well better then them.
Unlike music which is oppinionated, more people like 3 chord songs then songs at 180bpm with the rythem being played in hemi-semi-quavers every one has to admit the 2nd player is better then the 1st but you dont win in guitar so that makes it general unesecary to play that fast, you make music so being better doesnt mean you make better music.
