Introduction to Triads & Chord Inversions

Let's put all this information we've been learning into practice!

In this lesson I've created a simple exercise to show you how to use chord inversion voicings. We will play three major chords (C, F & G) using only the A, D & G strings. The purpose here is to make use of each new voicing we've learned with a group of chords commonly found together.

We start with a C major chord in root position. Then, we move to a second inversion F major, back to C major, to a first inversion G major. Finally we return to C major to start the whole thing over again. Repeat as many times as necessary to get it solidly under your fingers!
