The pentatonic scale is the most commonly used scale by guitarists in rock, blues, & country styles. This is because it's easy to see on the fretboard, it's easy to use & it sounds great!

In this lesson I'll show you the basic pentatonic "box", how to play it & then use it in a practice tune. We'll play it along with a basic blues-rock riff using an A power chord and alternating

between the rhythm chords and single note lead fills walking up & down the A minor pentatonic scale.

The main idea we are exploring in this tutorial is learning the pentatonic box & mechanics of changing from strumming chords to single note lead lines. Switching between the two and remaining in time is the how you can take your playing to the next level.
