Description

There are alot of ways to develop ones picking hand but, i think that we all want our hands to be able to do anything that comes our way musically. So in light of that i have drawn up a lesson plan for all who feel a burning desire to improve their right hand. Always use a metranome when practicing, because no matter how fast you can play if you can\'t play in time, you can\'t really play at all. Always try to strive for a clean sound, if you can\'t play something clean and smooth at a fast tempo, then half the tempo so you can play it flawlessly. Also ACCENTS are very important, try to accent the 1 the most, but still accent every other beat as well. Now for the good stuff. when you do your warm up excersises (if you do them?) use these right hand permutations to help you get started. Do strict alternat picking D U D U (etc.)...Then try starting with an upstroke instead U D U D.. Then do D D U D...D D D U...U D D D...D U D D...U D D U...D U U D...D D D D...U U U U...D U U U.. U D U U...Etc. until you have done every possible permutation of down and upstroke combinations...If you choose to do this it will GREATLY increase your command of your right hand. Apply these ideas to chords too and arpeggios ( i mean arpeggions don\'t have to be swept you know , lol)... If you have any questions, comments etc. e-mail me at [email protected]
