Description

Hi!
I really like alternative tunings, so I'm going to share some things with you.
A tuning I devised is C-G-D-D-C-C
Sixth string (thickest) tuned down to C
Fifth string tuned down to G
Forth string leave as it is.
Third string tuned down to D (same pitch as forth string.)
Second string tuned up to C
First string (thinnest) tuned down to C (same pitch as second string.)

Using this tuning you can play the riff I've tabbed below. Play it with lots of distortion if you have distortion available.

Other tunings I like:
D-A-D-G-A-D (A popular one with acoustic players)
F#-F#-F#-F#-B-A (Sonic Youth used this, check out the song Drunken Butterfly.)
E-B-E-G#-B-E (Open E tuning, basically it's an open E major chord.)

You can also tune all six strings down a semitone or even two semitones for instant Metallica! If you tune them all down a semitone, you will have this:
D#-G#-C#-F#-A#-D#

Hope you've got something out of this, if so rate this trick!
Cheers!
