What's up? It’s Mike from Guitar Tricks, teaching you "Love Gun" as made famous by Kiss. This is a 70s classic that was written for the arenas the band was playing at the time. The tune features an uptempo swing groove with some heavy slabs of rhythm guitar, and some great rock licks.

There are four electric guitar layers needed to play all the parts in this song. We’ve got one rhythm guitar that provides the riffs and foundation for the song. An additional rhythm guitar builds the arrangement and fills out the sound with some sparser riffs. There is Ace Frehley’s blazing guitar solo, as well as another lead guitar that provides some harmony to a repeated lick in the fadout.

In the following lessons, we’ll talk about a swing groove, power chords, double stops, and some killer rock licks. We are in slack tuning, so tune your guitar down to Eb to play along. We are in the key of E minor, with a 4/4 time signature, at a tempo of 147 BPM.
