So Excited

What's up everyone, it's Mike from Guitar Tricks, teaching you "So Excited" as made famous by B.B. King. This song features three blazing solos from B.B., but is quite a departure from a typical blues feel. It has a great 16th note groove, taking it closer to uptown R&B than traditional blues.

There are 2 guitar layers on the original recording. One is the typical B.B. King clean Gibson tone we all know and love, while the rhythm guitar alternates between a clean and dirty sound with liberal use of wah-wah for a distinctive tone.

In the following lessons, we'll talk about major pentatonic blues licks, the B.B. King vibrato, dynamics, and blues rhythm patterns and riffs. We are in the key of A, with a 4/4 time signature, at a tempo of 138 bpm.
