Description
The verse features a cool descending chord progression that uses some rich chord voicings. The first thing to notice is the combination of strumming and muting, a grunge era hallmark. The chord progression features some rich chord voicings (C#/B and F#9/A#) that are a bit dissonant to the ear. The tension releases with the move to the Asus2 then E chord. The bass notes of the chords descend chromatically, tying things together nicely.
Look out for a variation in the 3rd verse. The band hangs on the Asus2 chord twice, and for a full bar the second time.
