Description

Here is another way to take the arpeggio and scale ideas we've learned in the previous lessons and build some actual lines to play over our chord progression.

Again, we are going to mix and match arpeggio and scale ideas together in order to get variety in our lead lines! This time I mix it up even more. Sometimes I use mostly scale notes; other times I use mostly chord tones. There is also a variety of ascending and descending motion. In this pattern we will use a lot more chromatic passing tones as a way to approach the next scale note or chord tone. Again, each lines in carefully constructed to dovetail into the next measure. The notes are carefully selected to outline not only the chord currently happening, but also the next chord that happens.
