"Stop Breaking Down" as made famous by the legendary bluesman, Robert Johnson is a quintessential blues standard and we're gonna learn how to play it with a swing shuffle groove in two different approaches.

For this made easy arrangement, I'll be using an acoustic guitar, but any guitar you've got tuned to standard tuning will be perfect to learn the tune this way.

Originally, the song was played in a different tuning and key, as well as with a capo. In order to play this with a simpler style, we'll be learning it in a different key. But if you're ready for some extra challenge, GT has an awesome tutorial for the original version of the tune on the site!

This song is all solo guitar with a vocal accompaniment so it's super essential for learning to play with a solid groove and good time-feel. After all, there's no other instruments to help us out here!

In the following lessons, we'll learn about the blues form, swing rhythm, a couple different approaches to playing the blues, a little bit about 7th chords, and how to make our rhythm part interesting enough to support a whole song by itself. We're in the key of A major at 116 BPM.
