Quarter Notes

Now that you have some basic experience with whole notes and half notes, let's throw the quarter notes into the mix. First we're going to grab our A minor chord. Then we'll do two whole notes. Then we'll do the switch to our C major chord and do two half notes, followed by 4 quarter notes.

So in the first bar we play the chord once. Next bar we do that again. Then for C major we play the chord twice. In the last bar we strum it 4 times on each count. We'll repeat that one more time and then we'll end on an A minor chord that we let ring.

Now let's try this together. I'll do the usual one-bar count-in and then we'll start the example. Feel free to just watch and listen before you start playing along, if you prefer.
