There are several layers of acoustic and electric guitars featured in the original recording of this tune. A 12 string acoustic is the dominant acoustic guitar in the mix, but the song can be easily played on a 6 string acoustic. Any acoustic guitar is suitable to play this song.

A Semi-Hollowbody electric guitar was used on the recording, so that is what I’m playing in this tutorial. However, the song can be played with any electric guitar with a bridge humbucking pickup. I’m using the bridge pickup for a bright and clear sound.
Any cranked up Marshall tube amp is the best choice to replicate the tones in this tune. Dial in a lite crunch sound: for example, set the Preamp Gain to 50%, Bass to 75%, Mids to 55%, Treble to 60%, and Presence to 60%.

For the leads, add a tube screamer for more gain. Add reverb to all guitars for depth.

Since we’re in standard tuning, I’m using regular light guage strings that are 10-46 along with a heavy pick.
