Now let's check out what Guitar 1 is playing for the pre-choruses.

In the first pre-chorus Guitar 1 sticks with the power chords and the rhythm from the chorus part going. It follows this basic chord progression: D, C, B-flat, G. That's pretty much the part, only we have a few little variations on that G chord that you can choose from.

In the second pre-chorus, we'll stick with the riff rhythm, and then add a quick 16th note up and down ghost note.

You can of course use either of these variations for either section.

The most dramatic pre-chorus variation happens later in the song after the bridge section, when they're going into the chorus with drums only. For this pre-chorus we're just playing whole-note power chords. And then we've extended the G chord with one extra bar, and you can always just keep playing the same part for one extra bar if you prefer.

However, on the recording there's a really cool line happening here that's super fun to incorporate into your basic part. This is where I add the extra fuzz effect to get some more sustain for this build. But it'll work just fine without the extra boost as well.
