Now that we know the basic harmony and what the rhythm guitar is playing, it's time to start exploring all the great slide guitar that you hear on this song. Let's start out by breaking that very recognizable slide part that comes in for the 2nd verse.

For this song we're in an open E tuning, which means our open strings are tuned like our basic open E chord here. That means our low and high E string as well as the B string stay completely the same. The A string has been tuned up a whole step to B. The D string has been tuned up a whole step to E. Finally the G string has been tuned up a half step to G#.

Let's find our basic chords within this tuning. We only have three chords in the whole song: B A and E. Don't be confused that we called them something else when we broke down the riffs with the capo. They ring as B A and E.

We already know that we have an E chord in the open strings, and of course at the 12th fret. The B chord is in the 7th fret. And of course our A chord is down a whole step from that!
