The song was originally played using slack tuning, which is tuned a half-step lower, but we’ll learn it here in standard tuning. The acoustic part is a 12-string and 6-string played together, but for this tutorial we’ll play it as a composite on the 6-string. The electric is a Stratocaster with a hint of overdrive and uses the bridge pickup for solos and neck pick up for the rhythms. A few of the solo sections are affected with echo delay and wah-wah, and the Interlude section is played with a slide. For EQ set the treble at 2 o’clock, mid at 1 o’clock, and bass at 11’o’clock. These settings should get you pretty close to the desired tones using whatever gear you have, but feel free to adjust accordingly.
