In the previous tutorial we explored how you can change up which treble strings you use for this pattern, and that comes in very handy when we're trying to work in melodies.

It's funny how you can probably play this part much more easily when you think of it as one complete part, but as soon as you single out a melody like this, there's a good chance it messes up the pattern. But that's a big part of the exercise here- to train your brain and your fingers to be able to focus on the melody notes on the treble strings, while automatically keeping the “accompaniment” going underneath it.
