I’m using a Super-Strat style guitar set for the bridge pickup for a clear, powerful tone. For Guitar 1, I’m engaging the coil tap on the bridge pickup for a brighter sound. For Guitar 2, I’m disengaging the coil tap to get a thicker sound with the full humbucker.

As far as amps go, any Marshall style tube amp is a desirable choice. Set the amp up for clean with a touch of grit. Set the Drive to 35%, Bass to 45%, Mid to 50%, Treble to 60%, and Presence to 65%.

For Guitar 2, kick in an overdrive for more gain and sustain.

Both guitars are using plenty of chorus, echo, and reverb for a larger than life sound typical for the late 80s.

I’m using 10-46 gage with a heavy pick to dig into the chords and licks.

Here are the settings I used:

Marshall JCM800 Model:
Drive: 35% Bass: 45% Mid: 50% Treb: 60% Presence: 65%
Tube Screamer (Guitar 2):
Gain: 70% Tone: 60% Level: 60%

Chorus:
Rate: 35% Depth: 40%
Digital Delay:
Time: 440ms Feedback: 35% Wet/DryMIX: 35%
Reverb (Hall):
Wet/DryMIX: 40%
