Notice how the use of the horn section drives this song. We can take cues on where we should be dynamically by paying attention to what the horns are doing. Notice how the horn section kicks the intro, then lays out for first verse, enters low on the 2nd verse, kicks up for the solo and then lays back till the outro. We should be matching that dynamic with our guitar part. The verse uses the classic 12 bar form of I-IV-V over 12 bars. Note that the pattern starts and ends on the A, I chord, with no turnaround.
