Mike will show you the 3 electric guitar layers. Guitars 1 & 2 are acoustic guitars that provide a bed of chord arpeggiation and strumming throughout. Guitar 3 is an electric guitar that plays a melodic lead and some simple fills.

The tune kicks off with the acoustic guitars playing the verse chord progression using an arpeggiated approach. Each guitar plays a different part which blend together nicely. The chorus switches to a higher dynamic strummed approach for contrast. There’s also an interlude section that features Guitar 3 playing some major sounding melodies.

In the following lessons, we’ll talk about a 6/8 feel, chord arpeggiation, open chords, a steady strum pattern, and dynamics. We are in the key of D major, with a 6/8 time signature, at a tempo of 76 BPM.
