Mike will show you the 2 guitar layers in this song. Guitar 1 is an acoustic guitar that lays the foundation of the tune with some steady, energetic strumming and arpeggiating. Guitar 2 is an electric guitar that plays rhythm and fills throughout the arrangement. Both guitars are tuned down 1/2 step to Eb, The acoustic uses a capo at the second fret.

The tune starts with the acoustic strumming a simple progression while the electric plays a melodic idea using octaves and volume swells. The verse and chorus sections are played at a high dynamic, while the bridge brings it back down with some acoustic arpeggiations and more
volume swells from the electric. The tune ends off with an extended outro that builds to a climactic ending.

In the following lessons, we’ll talk about steady acoustic strums, open and barre chords, suspended chords, octaves, volume swells, chord arpeggiation, and dynamics. We are in the key of E major, with a 4/4 time signature, at a tempo of 134 BPM.
