Any 6 or 12 string acoustic guitar can be used to play this tune. One with a brighter tone will help cut through the mix a bit better.

I'm using a Telecaster for the electric guitar parts, but any electric guitar with single coil pickups is suitable. I'm using the bridge pickup for a clean chimey tone for Guitar 2, and the rounder sound of the neck pickup for Guitar 3.

As far as amps go, any Fender style tube amp is a desirable choice. Set up the amp for a clean sound just on the edge of breakup. Set the Drive to 45%, Bass to 45%, Mid to 55%, Treble to 60%, and Presence to 65%.

Add some reverb to all guitars for depth. I'm also adding some chorus effect to Guitar 2 to give a sound typical for the late 80s.

On the acoustic, I'm using a 12-56 gage with heavy pick to dig right into those strums. On the electric, I'm using 10-46 gage with a heavy pick for Guitar 2, and my fingers for the slide parts.

Here are the settings I used:

Fender Deluxe Model:
Drive: 45% Bass: 45% Mid: 55% Treb: 60% Presence: 65%
Chorus (Guitar 2):
Rate: 35% Depth: 30%
Spring Reverb:
WetDryMIX: 35%
