Mike will show you 3 electric guitar layers in this song. Guitar 1 is the main rhythm guitar playing steady muted chord progressions throughout. Guitar 2 uses a more distorted tone for some cool riffing. Guitar 3 is the lead guitar that adds a clean sparkle with some country-rockabilly licks and parts.

The tune starts at a very low dynamic, with Guitar 1 playing the chord progression with power chords and palm muting. The band kicks in at the first prechorus, and builds the dynamic to the chorus section.

The tune features a very simple I IV V progression, but the arrangement and vocal melody makes the most of very simple materials with a great story arc!

To play this tune using one guitar, simply play Guitar 1 throughout, switching to Guitar 3 for the solo.

In the following lessons, we'll talk about power chords and barre chords, dynamics, palm muting, hybrid picking, and some country/rockabilly lead approaches. We are in the key of E major, with a 4/4 time signature, at a tempo of 120 BPM.
