Here are the chords that make up the INTRO and the VERSE for our song.

C - G Am - F
C - G F - C

With 2 chords dividing each bar, this simple 4 bar form utilizes the strongest and most basic harmonic relationships which gives the song a pure, straight forward structure.

We will play very simply, making 1 down strum per chord. This gives you the most time to focus on getting to your next chord in time. As you are more able to move your left hand, you are welcome to play 2 strums per chord. There's also a bonus lesson later on with a fuller strum when you are ready for it!

Another way to describe this progression would be:

I - V vi - IV
I - V IV - I (IV - I = PLAGAL CADENCE)

Note that a four bar structure repeats twice, with two chords to the bar, to make up the 8 bars of the verse.
Note that the "plagal cadence", or "amen" cadence, is used at the end of each 4 bars.
