Any acoustic guitar is suitable to play this song, though one with a brighter tone will help cut through the mix better. Tune to open E tuning and place a capo at the 8th fret.

Any electric guitar is suitable to play this song. The tones have more to do with the amp settings. The electric guitar is in standard tuning. Use the bridge pickup for a more powerful, clear tone.

As far as amps go, any Fender-style tube amp is a fine choice. Set the amp for a clean sound. Set the Drive to 35%, Bass to 45%, Mid to 45%, Treble to 70%, and Presence to 75%.

Add some reverb for depth.

I used a 10-46 string gage, with a heavy pick so I can dig right into those licks and fills and get aggressive when it's called for.

Here are the settings I used:

Fender Deluxe Model:
Drive: 35% Bass: 45% Mid: 45% Treb: 70% Presence: 75%
Spring Reverb:
WetDryMIX: 45%

Open E Tuning: (low to high) E B E G# B E
