Our song gets off to a very interesting start. The drums come in with a pick up, with the guitar entering in at the end of the first bar. We will then do a pick scrape with some delay, and then let it ring for one bar before we start our main melody. Once the full band is in, we have a four bar phrase that makes up our main guitar riff.

We first come in with the guitar playing two eighth notes, playing F to D. These come in on the downbeat of four at the end of the first measure.

Then at the end of the next phrase, we come in slightly just before beat four of the second measure; playing a nice pick scrape and showcasing our delay. Play a pick scrape, then count out loud the first two parts.

After our pick scrape rings though the next bar, we start in on our main two measure phrase. We have a first ending for the repeat, and then we will end the phrase by letting our open strings ring over the bar into the first verse. We are outlining a D7 chord.
