"Sell Me Down The River" features just one guitar.

Guitar 1 is our main and only guitar throughout this track. I am using a PRS McCarty to really nail that biting tone, along with the following tone settings.

PRS McCarty, Bridge Pickup
Vox AC30 Hi Boost Amp Modeling through a 1x12 Cab

Additional Boost for Top End
Compression @ 70%
Spring Reverb, Mix @ 30% - Decay @ 50%
1/8th Note Tape Delay, Mix @ 20% - Feedback @ 20%

This guitar is in Dropped D tuning, which means your guitar will be tuned D-A-D-G-B-E. This is particularly important during the verses as we will really emphasize that lower D string. I am using 11's on this guitar, as that allows me to do all the cool bends while also helping the rhythm parts stand out. My pick is a Dunlop H3 style pick, which is a small pick that is really thick. This helps get the bite out of the strings that you definitely need in a song like this.

Songs like this really demonstrate the power of a single guitar in a song. Every part is very intentional, and utilizes so many classic guitar tricks. There are elements of new wave, blues, and straight up rock n roll in this song and we're going to have a blast learning it. We will go through all the guitar parts in this song, and at the end I will also go over a simpler approach to the song for an additional single guitar performance. I will cover what to play during the solo sections at the end of each of those lessons.
