We’ll need to be able to shift gears, both dynamically and rhythmically, back down from the chorus into the more open groove of the verse.

The exact same figure that is used for the intro is also used as a transition/interlude twice in the song. This is done after the first chorus for 2 bars. Also, after the second chorus for 4 bars.

These sections serve as transitions from the chorus back down in the emptier, washer verses. This is very important for pacing and dynamics
