First we are going to learn the dropped D guitar riffs that you play during the intro of our song, during all the verses, as well as during the repeats of the main saxophone melody. Here are some key points to help you through it:

1. Our riff is in dropped D tuning, with the lowest E string tuned down to D. The riff is 8 bars long and can be thought of in two sections.

2. The first part features some chromaticism as well as some slides that lead into the second go around of the riff.

3. The second part of the riff starts the same way but has even more chromaticism but with a different ending.

4. You will play the full eight bars of this riff once for the intro, once for each of the two verses, as well as once for all three times you hear the saxophone melody.

5. The only change in the riff is how it ends going into the outro. You will simply end the section by F to E on the low D string.
