The chorus starts on a C chord, and we have the experience of "lift", both harmonically in the guitar and melodically in the vocal. Like the verse, the chorus has an unusual number of bars (13).

The first 8 bars are repetitive, and feature a classic vocal hook, identical to the title of the song. The last 5 bars are in the form of a "shout out" which gives the song an immediate recognition appeal to the listener.

The chorus ends with a chord held for 2 bars; this time an F chord so there is an interesting symmetry to his writing style, in spite of the unusual numbers of bars in both the verse and chorus.
