I'll be playing my steel string vintage OO Martin acoustic guitar today, which is similar to the smaller size steel string guitars that Joan Baez played. Although this song is suited for acoustic guitar, it can be played on just about any type of guitar; if you're playing electric I would use a clean tone.

The capo will be used on the first fret, Joan did this because she preferred the 1/2 step up to optimize her vocal range. Using the capo also allowed her to be in Db but use simple chord shapes: Am, C, F and D.

You'll need to use your capo to play along today, but you are free to place it anywhere that works for your vocals once you've learned this song.
