One thing to keep in mind with this guitar part - and parts like this - is that it's not just about the guitar. Here we should be laying low and just hanging out with the rhythm section, laying the harmonic foundation to the song.

This is very important because not only are you cradling people into the vibe and mood of the song but you need to also let the lead guitar have it's moment, as well as the talking vocal that is explaining the heartache that is the subject of the song.

Be sure to take an extra look at the progression as you go through it, watch out for the E/B chord and the voicing which is a nice little twist to the arrangement as it switches to a B7.

Also notice how the chords cycle very well together. If you find the perfect spot in the rhythm section you can jam on these types of progressions forever.
