Any acoustic guitar will work well here, but one with a brighter tone will help cut through the rest of the band. You'll need a capo on the 2nd fret to play the parts for this song.

As far as electric guitars go, a Telecaster style guitar is the authentic choice, but any guitar with a single coil pickup in the bridge position will approximate the tone. The Tele provides that bright spanky tone perfect for modern country.

As far as amps go, any Fender style tube amp will do the trick. Set for a light crunch sound and add some reverb to give some depth. The electric also adds a light chorus effect for all the rhythm parts, which is typical of the era. Kick in an boost or overdrive pedal for the solo to get more sustain. Check out the settings I used:

Fender Deluxe Model: Drive: 75% Bass: 50% Mid: 70% High: 60% Presence: 85%

Chorus: Rate: 40% Depth 65% Wet/DryMIX 45%

Spring Reverb: Wet/DryMIX: 45%
