More Rock Lead Tone

I'll be playing a Les Paul for this tutorial, and for the break downs I'll be using a basic clean tone. Then for the examples I'll be adding some overdrive, which you can obtain from your amp or from an overdrive pedal like the BOSS SD-1.

In this lesson the volume of the pedal is set to match the bypassed volume, but sometimes it can be cool to have it set to be slightly louder, so you cut through the band for a solo or a more rockin' part of the song. The tone is usually left at 12 o'clock unless you want it darker or brighter.
