I'll be using my Gibson 335 for this tutorial, which is similar to the Les Paul you saw earlier, except that it has a hollow body, which makes the tones less "massive". As you can see there are two humbuckers and a three-way switch engaging either the neck pickup, the bridge pickup, or both.

This particular 335 has a vibrato arm that bends all the strings at once, which is a fun and cool effect, but we won't be using that today.

We'll be using a variety of different tones for this tutorial, ranging from clean to distorted, and you can get these tones from adjusting the gain on your amp or adding an overdrive or distortion pedal like the BOSS DS-1 or SD-1.
