The tune starts off with some palm muted E power chord strums locking with the kick drum. Play the E chord down in open position, and open up your strum for the change to the open A chord on the and-of-2 of the second bar of the progression.

The changes to F#m and B (IIm and V) are identical to how they are played in every chorus; a full strum of the chord followed by some arpeggiation to fill things out. Then we are opened up as we move back to the E and A chord progression setting up the verse.

Approach this section playing each strum relaxed and even.
