Hi all, this is Caren for Guitar Tricks and today we're going to learn the classic song "Simple Man", by Lynyrd Skynyrd, recorded originally in 1973. This is a great made easy project as it repeats one chord progression (C, G, and A minor) throughout the entire song.

I'll be playing the "unplugged" acoustic version of this rock song today, using my vintage OO Martin steel string guitar. Feel free to use whatever instrument you are currently playing, electric or acoustic.

I'll be strumming with my fingers today, but the same principles will be useful if you prefer to use a flat pick.

"Simple Man" is in the key of C, in 4/4 time, and is played at 61 beats per minute.
